Abdur Rehman and his brother Abdullah were both martyred in Kerbala. They were considered as noble people of Koofa and were lovers of the family of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W). Their grandfather Hiraq was also a companion of Hazrat Ali (A.S) and took part in the three battles of Jamal, Sifin and Nehrawan. These two brothers went to Kerbala from Koofa. Both of them seeked permossion to fight and went to the battlefield. They tried to excell each other in fighting. One of them used to say one verse and the other one said the second one. Both of them were martyred.
